The walking beam furnace is a widely used continuous heating and heat treatment
equipment. Compared with the traditional pusher-type furnace, its core advantages
are very prominent:
Flexible material handling without failures: It can adjust the movement rhythm of workpieces
as needed, and can discharge all materials in the furnace when necessary, completely avoiding
the common steel arching and steel sticking problems of pusher-type furnaces, and the
furnace length is not limited by related factors.
High heating quality: Workpieces are placed at intervals in the furnace, which can achieve
uniform heating on multiple sides. There is no obvious black mark after heating, no scratches
on the surface, and it can also reduce the oxidation and decarburization of steel billets.
Strong adaptability: It is compatible with workpieces of various shapes such as steel ingots,
steel billets and round billets, and can flexibly match the production demands of different
outputs and adapt to the dynamic changes of rolling rhythm.
Excellent automation and energy-saving performance: It generally adopts a PLC system to
realize full-process automatic control with low operation intensity. Compared with traditional
furnace types, it can save about 10% of energy and is suitable for large-scale continuous
production scenarios.
